Can you recall that time dear heart?
Whispering softly through the trees were all the broken dreams of yesterday.
Do you remember what I said to you?
Caught in a golden web of poetry and illusion, you were my willing prey.
Your terrified gaze still lingers in the mirror staring calmly back at me.
With fingers pale as death, I trace gently the face I'll forever see there.
Your voice haunts my dreams love,
Yet how I do relish that immortal power I held over you.
That single chilling scream echoes once more through the silent winter night.
With an aurora of flames framing your face, you cried my name.
As shadows came to call you home, you reached despratly for my hand. Remember?
How easy it was to watch you die.
How magical it was to see you cry!
And to think, I once feared you!
Rising and falling with my every breath,
a chorus of demons serenaded your death.
Now as your charred ashes scatter carelessly on the wind,
I light the candle to play again.
